Barsborough Market
Barsborough Market is the club’s
second O gauge layout, and will be the first club layout to
use DCC control.
The location is fictional, but is
somewhere in the East Midlands. Barsborough Market will not
be found on any map, and exists only in the imagination of
the club’s O gauge modellers, who wanted to build a small
terminus served by predominately LNER and LMS stock .The
station includes a goods yard and parcels bay, and there is
also a carriage siding and small engine shed. The four road
hidden fiddle yard is able to hold trains of up to four
coaches.
All track has now been laid, and wiring
has been completed on three of the six baseboards.
It is hoped that track ballasting will start shortly.
All buildings are being constructed from Plasticard,
and there is still a lot of work to be done. Work has not
yet started on items such as signalling and point rodding,
so if you would like to help with these, or any other
aspects of the layout, please come along and have a chat
with us.
