MODEL RAILWAY CLUB COMES
HOME
Barking and District Model
Railway Society has changed its name to East Ham
Model Railway Club following a move to a new
clubroom in East Ham.
In fact, after a period of more
than 30 years in Barking, the club has returned
home, having originally been formed by a group of
enthusiastic railway modellers in East Ham in 1960.
The new clubroom is at the Brian Didsbury Centre on
Didsbury Close, East Ham, where new members are, as
ever, always welcome.
EXHIBITIONS
A very sucessful exhibition was held on 15 March 2008
and an enjoyable day was had by all who visited and
exhibited.
The club attended the East Ham town show on 12
July exhibiting our layout Sparkford. This layout
also attended the Ilford MRC and Romford MRC
exhibitions in 2008.
Our EM layout Clatterford attended Expo EM at
Bracknell on 17 & 18 May. This was the third
time this layout has appeared at Expo EM.
Two exhibitions are planned for 2009. See
exhibitions page for details.
